207 Landslide-Prone Areas Activate Landslide Site Prevention Teams
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, will operate a landslide countermeasure situation room until October 15.
This operation aims to protect the lives and property of local residents from summer natural disasters such as heavy rain and typhoons.
During the operation period, the county will organize and operate emergency duty teams according to the landslide crisis alert levels (Interest, Caution, Warning, Serious) issued by the Korea Forest Service.
In addition, a landslide prevention team will be operated targeting 207 landslide-prone areas, strengthening monitoring activities such as frequent on-site inspections and patrols.
In particular, repair and emergency activities will be carried out in hazardous areas such as soil runoff around forest roads to minimize secondary damage.

A county official said, “Landslides occur without warning and cause significant damage as natural disasters, so proactive prevention and response are most important. In case of landslide signs, please evacuate to a safe place following emergency disaster texts and village broadcasts, and report to the countermeasure situation room.”
