Jeju Air Offers Online Wheelchair Reservation Service for Domestic Flights
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Jeju Air announced on the 26th that it will provide an online wheelchair reservation service through its website, mobile web, and app to facilitate domestic flight reservations for people with disabilities.
Jeju Air has improved the wheelchair reservation service, which was previously only available through the customer center, allowing online wheelchair reservations for domestic flights starting from mid-this month.
The online wheelchair reservation service is available only to passengers booking with a disability discount and must be made at least 48 hours before departure. After completing the flight ticket purchase, passengers can apply for a wheelchair through My Page. Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before the departure date. Passengers without a disability discount can make advance reservations through the customer center.
Wheelchair users can rent a wheelchair at the counter on the day of travel after making a reservation. Passengers can check their own wheelchair as baggage and rent a wheelchair to move to the boarding gate, or use their own wheelchair to the boarding gate, then check the wheelchair as baggage and retrieve it at the arrival airport. For electric wheelchairs, special arrangements are required, so online reservations are not available, and inquiries must be made to the customer center at least 48 hours before the flight departure.
To enhance convenience for mobility-impaired passengers, Jeju Air, together with Korea Airports Corporation, introduced the first unmanned ticket vending machine for visually impaired passengers at Gimpo Airport domestic terminal in May, a first among domestic airlines.
