This volunteer activity is participated by employees from Galleria headquarters and Gwanggyo branch with the purpose of leading the end of dog meat consumption and protecting abandoned animals ahead of the Jungbok holiday. Actress Kim Hyo-jin, who usually shows interest in protecting abandoned animals, also joined this volunteer activity.
The Galleria PARAN Volunteer Group is an employee volunteer organization formed by employees who love companion animals, as part of Galleria's social contribution program 'PARAN (Protection of Animal Rights and Animal Needs) Project' which has been ongoing since 2018. The PARAN project is Galleria's representative social contribution activity that highlights and supports the blind spots of companion animal culture.
The Galleria PARAN Volunteer Group has conducted various volunteer activities by visiting shelters in need of help. They have continued various activities such as volunteering at abandoned animal shelters in Yongin and Yangju, Gyeonggi Province, assisting in the rescue and adoption of abandoned animals.
The animal organization 'Haenggang' supported by the PARAN Volunteer Group on this day is an organization leading the protection of abandoned animals and the end of dog meat consumption, and recently rescued about 70 abandoned dogs from a dog farm in Icheon. During this volunteer activity, they carried out shelter cleaning and kennel floor maintenance to improve the living conditions of 250 abandoned dogs living in the shelter. They also planned to take the abandoned dogs for walks in the nearby area to spend caring time interacting with them.
