The Beginning of South Korea's Cultural and Artistic Journey: Publication of 『Haenam Ttangkkeut-e Gago Sipda』
Stories of Haenam with 33 Cultural Artists of Our Time
[Haenam=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] On the 20th, Haenam County in Jeollanam-do announced the publication of the Haenam Cultural and Artistic Journey "I Want to Go to the End of the Land in Haenam," which is held together with cultural and artistic figures of our time.
The booklet candidly recounts what Korea's representative cultural and artistic figures saw, heard, and felt at the end of the land in Haenam.
Thirty-three participants include poets such as Kim Seontae, Kim Yunbae, Son Taeksu, Lee Jaemu, and Hwang Jiwoo; novelists such as Song Giwon, Shin Kyungsook, Im Cheolwoo, and Choi Sucheol; literary critics such as Kim Byeongik, Yoo Seongho, and Choi Dongho; culture reporters such as Eo Suung and Jo Yongho; filmmakers such as Kwak Jaeyong and Jo Heemun; theater artist Park Myeongseong; and painter Kim Daewon.
Film director Kwak Jaeyong and novelist Shin Kyungsook spoke about the warm and heartwarming people of Haenam, while musical producer Park Myeongseong and poet Jo Dongbeom introduced the flavors of Haenam.
Additionally, the book introduces Haenam’s famous sites. Novelist Im Cheolwoo wrote about Duryunsan, poet Kim Yunbae about Mihwangsa, poet Moon Hyochi about Iljiam, poet Lee Jiyeop about Eunjuksa, poet Jang Seokju about Daeheungsa, poet Jeong Kkeutbyeol about the birthplaces of Kim Namju and Ko Jeonghee, poet Jeong Ilgeun about the arboretum, poet Lee Jaemu about Eoran Port, poet Song Soyoung about Ttangkkeut Hwangto Nara Theme Village, film critic Jo Heemun about Haenam Dinosaur Museum, and poet Heo Hyeongman about the library in Beopjeong Monk Village, sharing their impressions.
This is not simply a trip for eating, drinking, and enjoyment, but a cultural and artistic travel book that satisfies those who desire a journey accompanied by history, culture, contemplation, and reflection.
A county official said, "With the participation of many of Korea’s representative cultural and artistic figures, we hope many people find warm comfort through this literary essay collection that sincerely describes representative tourist spots, hidden literary sites, and the stories behind them. We also hope it will be widely read as healing content to console the difficult days caused by COVID-19 and other challenges."
