Gubongsan Observatory Captivated by the Mysterious Night Aura of Yi Sun-sin Bridge
Romantic Night View Sparkling Like Sprinkled Silver Powder Popular
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seonsik] Gwangyang City in Jeonnam announced that the Gwangyang Night View City Tour, which began on the 15th, received great responses from participants and had a refreshing start.
Tour participants from Seoul, Gwangju, Suncheon, as well as local citizens, were captivated by the mysterious night aura presented by Gubongsan Observatory and the Yi Sun-sin Bridge.
Following the sunset at Gubongsan Observatory, participants cheered at the digital beacon tower emitting its own mysterious light and the beautiful panoramic night view unfolding below their feet.
While crossing the Yi Sun-sin Bridge on the tour bus, they were thrilled by the romantic night view of Gwangyang Bay sparkling as if sprinkled with silver dust.
At the Yi Sun-sin Bridge Promotion Center, participants repeatedly expressed admiration and continuously flashed their cameras at the urban nightscape where the Yi Sun-sin Bridge, Haeoreum Overpass, and Rainbow Bridge harmonize.
A participant from Seoul said, “I did not expect Gwangyang’s night to be this romantic and fantastic,” and expressed satisfaction, adding, “The Gwangyang Art Warehouse exhibiting the records of the Jeonnam Provincial Museum of Art and photographer Lee Kyung-mo exceeded my expectations.”
A local citizen who joined the city tour said, “Even after living in Gwangyang for 20 years, I didn’t know there were so many high-level cultural spaces and shining night view spots throughout Gwangyang,” and added, “It became an opportunity to increase pride as a Gwangyang citizen.”
Kim Seongsu, Director of Tourism who participated in the tour, said, “The Gwangyang Night View City Tour is receiving good responses not only from travelers from other regions but also from citizens,” and added, “It is a two-birds-one-stone program that can realize the principle of ‘Geunja-yeol Wonjarae’?making those nearby happy first and attracting those far away.”
Meanwhile, the Gwangyang Night View City Tour is an emotional travel project where visitors can enjoy Gwangyang’s high-quality culture such as the Jeonnam Provincial Museum of Art during the day and the sparkling starlit night view at night.
It operates only in midsummer until the end of August and is expected to romantically color travelers’ weekends every Friday through Sunday.
To participate in the Gwangyang Night View Tour, reservations must be made by phone by 5 p.m. every Thursday, and the tour operates with a minimum of five people.
Group reservations (20 or more people) can be operated on weekdays as well.
The usage fee is 3,000 KRW for general admission, 2,000 KRW for military personnel, seniors, and students, and 1,000 KRW for persons with disabilities and preschool children. Entrance fees to tourist sites, travel insurance, and meal costs are separate.
