Danggeun Market Opens Group Purchase Service..."Let's Buy Together"
Starting in Some Areas of Seoul and Gyeonggi
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Danggeun Market (co-CEOs Kim Yong-hyun and Kim Jae-hyun) announced on the 19th that it will open 'Gat-i Sayo' (Let's Buy Together), a service that allows neighbors to gather and purchase goods or services together, targeting certain areas in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province through its Neighborhood Life service.
'Gat-i Sayo' is a service where neighbors come together to buy items in bulk at a lower price. When ordering delivery food, multiple households can order together to save on delivery fees. It can also be used when visiting local stores that offer discounts for groups. When there is a product or service that people want to buy or use together, anyone can create a post on a desired topic to gather like-minded neighbors and participate together, which is its distinctive feature.
The initial launch areas include all of Gwanak-gu in Seoul, parts of Gangdong-gu (Gangil-dong, Godeok-dong, Sangil-dong), and some areas in Hanam-si, Gyeonggi Province (Deokpung-dong, Mangwol-dong, Misa-dong, Seon-dong, Sinjang-dong, Pungsan-dong). These areas were prioritized because they have many large supermarkets and high demand for group purchases or joint deliveries. Danggeun Market plans to gradually expand the service to other regions while improving it based on user feedback starting from these areas.

The maximum number of participants is four. To focus on exchange activities where neighbors recommend good products to each other and purchase together at affordable prices, activities by professional sellers are prohibited. More detailed instructions on how to use the service can be found in the Danggeun Market guidelines. Choi Jin-young, head of the Danggeun Market Gat-i Sayo Task Force, said, "Posts seeking people to buy bulk items cheaply and divide them among single-person households or families with children, or to share delivery fees or minimum order amounts for food or parcels, have been steadily posted on the Neighborhood Life board. We planned this service to connect these needs more effectively." He added, "We hope that Gat-i Sayo will help the neighborhood community culture of sharing and exchanging daily life with neighbors to blossom even more."
