Gyeongnam Police Agency Thoroughly Inspects Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Strike Site
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] On the 18th, the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency announced that it will conduct a strict investigation into the strike rally site at Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering in Geoje City.
The provincial police agency, concerned about the repercussions of the Metal Workers' Union subcontract branch strike, will hold a joint safety countermeasure meeting with related agencies to conduct a preliminary risk assessment of the rally sites and illegal facility occupation locations.
The Gyeongnam Police on-site inspection team will inspect Dock No. 1 at Okpo Shipyard, which has been illegally occupied by some union members of the Metal Workers' Union subcontract branch.
Subsequently, with support from the Safety Diagnosis Team under the Police Agency's Security Bureau, a detailed safety diagnosis of the rally sites and illegal facility occupation locations will be actively carried out.
The police agency will lead a focused investigation at the Gyeongnam Police Agency into all illegal activities including facility occupation, and plans to deploy an additional 18 direct investigation personnel, including the Gyeongnam Metropolitan Investigation Unit, to the dedicated investigation team at Geoje Police Station.
