On the 18th, the Federation announced that Chairman Huh launched a street campaign targeting young people to promote rural tourism and Korean agricultural products as the peak vacation season began. To encourage not only people in their 20s, who have little experience with rural tourism, but also various generations to visit rural areas, an experiential photo zone was planned to showcase the charm of rural areas as a ‘photo hotspot’ for SNS (social networking services).
Attending the event were Jeong Hwang-geun, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs; Lee Seong-hee, Chairman of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation; Hong Moon-pyo, member of the People Power Party; Yoon Jae-gap, member of the Democratic Party; Park Kang-soo, mayor of Mapo District; as well as representatives from farmers’ and consumer organizations and other figures from various sectors.
Before the campaign, Chairman Huh sent a letter to member companies urging them to support the rural economy by taking summer vacations in rural areas and to participate in promoting balanced regional development.
