Korea Exchange Appoints Former National Team Coach Yoo Nam-gyu as Inaugural Head Coach of Table Tennis Team
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Myunghwan] The Korea Exchange announced on the 18th that it has appointed Olympic table tennis gold medalist coach Yoo Nam-kyu as the founding coach of the Korea Exchange Table Tennis Team.
Previously, the Korea Exchange had announced that it was promoting the establishment of a provisional 'Korea Exchange Table Tennis Team' to contribute to the revitalization of corporate sports, which have been stagnant, ahead of the 2024 Busan World Table Tennis Championships.
Coach Yoo, who was appointed as the new coach, said, "I am very pleased to be appointed as the inaugural coach of the Korea Exchange." He added, "Especially as I am from my hometown Busan and have become the founding coach of the table tennis team, I will strive to bring a new breeze not only to the domestic table tennis community but also to the Busan local community."

A Korea Exchange official stated, "Through the appointment of Coach Yoo, we plan to actively support the table tennis team to become a top-tier team both domestically and internationally and contribute to the revitalization of table tennis sports in Korea." He added, "Together with Coach Yoo, who is from Busan, we will also expand our contribution activities to the Busan local community through talent donations such as 'local citizen table tennis lessons.'"
