Yogiyo and POSTECH Join Hands for Last-Mile Technology Research
Mutual Cooperation for Research on Data Science and Last Mile Technology and Fostering Excellent Talent

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Delivery app Yogiyo announced on the 18th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Pohang University of Science and Technology (hereinafter, POSTECH) for industry-academia cooperation in developing optimization-based data science technology and last-mile technology.
Through this industry-academia cooperation, both parties plan to explore ways to jointly advance the new innovative technology of delivery apps, specifically the optimization of 'last-mile logistics' and data science technology. In particular, to foster outstanding development talent, they will expand specific programs such as ▲joint academic workshops and theoretical education ▲data competitions ▲internship programs linked to employment.
Yogiyo and POSTECH will prioritize research on practically applicable technologies through this year and plan to continue mutual cooperation with the establishment of the Yogiyo R&D Industry-Academia Cooperation Center within 2023.
Earlier, since May, Yogiyo has also started joint research with POSTECH to enhance logistics efficiency. Under the guidance of Professor Kim Byung-in, an authority in logistics optimization, the POSTECH research team, jointly led by Professors Choi Dong-gu and Chae Min-woo from the Department of Industrial and Management Engineering, is conducting practical research on rider demand forecasting and last-mile logistics optimization at delivery sites using data science and artificial intelligence techniques.
