[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 12th that it will once again extend the 'agricultural machinery rental fee reduction period' until the end of this year to support local farms suffering from labor shortages and prolonged COVID-19 difficulties.
The agricultural machinery rental fee reduction is a system that reduces one day of usage fee per week by model for farmers renting agricultural machinery, and anyone residing in the county or having farmland in Jangseong can apply.
Since the county first implemented the agricultural machinery rental fee reduction system in March 2020, it has continued support, with a cumulative number of supports reaching about 30,000 cases, equivalent to 1.115 billion KRW.
A county official said, "We intend to contribute to reducing farming costs and normalizing management for local farmers by further extending the agricultural machinery rental fee reduction period."
Meanwhile, the county owns a total of 796 rental agricultural machines of 90 types and operates three agricultural machinery rental offices in the main office, western branch, and northern branch. It is focusing on supporting local farms through services such as rental agricultural machinery courier service (transportation agency) and strengthening agricultural machinery safety education.
