Naju-si Signs Investment Agreement for Innovation Industrial Complex with Two Companies

[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] On the 11th, Naju City, Jeollanam-do announced that it signed an investment attraction agreement for the Innovation Industrial Complex with Daesang Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. and Gint Co., Ltd. at the city hall Ihwa Room.

Daesang Heavy Industries Co., Ltd., headquartered in Yeongam, Jeollanam-do, is a manufacturer of ship components and recently has been participating in the "Used Battery Recycling Industrialization" to establish a secondary battery industry ecosystem with the goal of business diversification.

Through this agreement, the city plans to invest 8 billion KRW on a 7,306㎡ site in the Innovation Industrial Complex to build an "EV·ESS Used Battery Remanufacturing Factory" by the first half of next year, creating 40 jobs, and intends to expand the business area and site in line with the future development of the Naju Energy National Industrial Complex.

Gint Co., Ltd., headquartered in Suwon, Gyeonggi-do, is a precision agriculture venture company focusing on developing autonomous driving kits for agricultural machinery to improve farming efficiency, attracting significant domestic and international attention.

Gint Co., Ltd. plans to invest 5.8 billion KRW by the end of this year on an 8,192㎡ site in the Innovation Industrial Complex to build a smart machinery equipment manufacturing factory, aiming to develop, commercialize, and provide services for products applying 4th Industrial Revolution technologies in agriculture and to employ 37 people.

Mayor Yoon Byung-tae said, "I sincerely welcome and thank Daesang Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. and Gint Co., Ltd., the first investment agreement partners of the 8th elected administration leading Naju as a mecca of new energy industries," adding, "Based on administrative and financial support for the successful promotion of the first investment agreement, I hope they will play a detailed role in revitalizing the local economy through industry-academia-research-government cooperation as well as creating quality jobs."
