Gu Ja-yeol, Chairman of Muhyeop, Visits Memorial Altar for Former Prime Minister Abe to Pay Respects
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] Koo Ja-yeol, Chairman of the Korea International Trade Association (KITA), visited the memorial altar for former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on the 11th to express his condolences and sympathy.
On the afternoon of the same day, Chairman Koo, along with KITA Vice Chairman Lee Kwan-seop and other association executives, visited the memorial altar set up at the Embassy of Japan in Korea to pay their respects. In the guestbook, he wrote, "I extend my deepest condolences and sympathy to the bereaved family and the people of Japan who are in great sorrow and grief over the news of former Prime Minister Abe’s passing." After offering incense, Chairman Koo briefly greeted Kumagai Naoki, Minister-Counselor of the Embassy of Japan in Korea, before leaving the memorial altar.
Earlier, immediately following former Prime Minister Abe’s death, KITA issued a statement saying, "We sincerely offer our deepest condolences and sympathy to the bereaved family, the people of Japan, and the business community who are plunged into grief and despair due to the sudden passing of former Prime Minister Abe. We also hope that exchanges between the two countries, which must move forward together toward the future, will soon become active again."
