Gwangju Bukbu Fire Station Urges Participation in '119 Emergency First Aid Video Contest'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The Gwangju Northern Fire Station announced on the 10th that it encourages many citizens to participate in the '119 First Aid Video Contest' hosted by the National Fire Agency, organized by the Korea Fire Safety Institute, and sponsored by the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health and Welfare, Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, and the Korean Red Cross.
This contest is a nationwide participatory competition open to anyone, aiming to spread a culture of respect for life and to raise awareness and interest in the necessity of first aid in general, thereby creating a social atmosphere.
Contest videos should be produced within 5 minutes and can be either reenactments of actual first aid cases, staged scenarios, or videos introducing first aid methods for various diseases or injury situations. Submissions must be made through the Korea Fire Broadcasting website by August 29.
Submitted videos will undergo online voting by the general public and expert evaluation, with the final winners announced in October. Eighteen awards including the Prime Minister's Award and a total prize money of 8 million KRW will be given. Winning entries will be used as fire safety promotional materials and educational resources to help spread safety culture.
