Mayor Sang-il Lee: "We Will Make Yongin a Better Place to Live Through Communication and Cooperation"
[Asia Economy (Yongin) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Lee Sang-il, mayor of Yongin, stated, "It takes less than a minute from (Yongin) City Hall to the City Council," and added, "We will create a Yongin City that leads South Korea through communication and cooperation."
On the 4th, Mayor Lee held a tea time with the City Council's chairpersons, emphasizing 'communication' and 'cooperation.'
On that day, he promised the City Council chairpersons, including Chairperson Yoon Won-gyun and Vice Chairperson Kim Un-bong, "The goal of both the executive branch and the City Council is one: to make Yongin a city where every citizen can live well," and said, "From the decision-making stage, we will consult and communicate with the City Council to lead new changes."
He continued, "As a reliable partner who contemplates city administration together, I will listen to and accept the opinions of city council members," and proposed, "Let us work together to create a Yongin City that leads South Korea."
In response, Chairperson Yoon said, "The fundamental function of the council is to check and monitor the executive branch. Please consider the issues raised by the council members in depth," and added, "We will actively cooperate to provide high-quality administrative services to the citizens."

Meanwhile, after the tea time, Mayor Lee attended the opening ceremony of the 9th Yongin City Council and said, "Many citizens have entrusted us with heavy responsibilities and authority, dreaming of a new tomorrow for Yongin. Now, we must fulfill our promises and create a new Yongin," and urged, "Please gather wisdom and strength so that the 1.1 million Yongin Special City can become a city representing South Korea."
