[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Busan City and the Busan Architecture Festival Organizing Committee are holding the ‘2022 Busan Architecture Festival Citizen Video Contest’ to realize the ‘2022 Busan Architecture Festival’ created together with citizens.
The theme of the contest is ‘Busan’s Alleys Connected to the Coastline - What Will We Do?’
Through this, the contest aims to highlight the diversity of alley spaces connected along the coastline, which is changing due to natural erosion and sedimentation as well as artificial ports and reclamation, and furthermore, to pose the question ‘What will we do?’ for these spaces, sharing citizens’ various thoughts on the future of Busan.
Anyone interested can participate in this contest. Videos should be within 3 minutes and can be documentaries, advertisements, animations, etc., containing the contest theme, with no genre restrictions. Submissions can be made through the Busan Architecture Festival website from July 4 to September 15 by 6 PM.
The winning works will be announced on October 14 after expert judging. ▲The grand prize of 2 million KRW will be awarded to 1 team ▲The excellence prize of 1.5 million KRW to 1 team ▲The merit prize of 1 million KRW to 1 team ▲The encouragement prize of 500,000 KRW each to 4 teams. Among the winning works, 1 team that receives the highest public preference through a citizen popularity survey will also receive ▲the popularity award and an additional prize of 500,000 KRW.
The winning works will be exhibited at the ‘2022 Busan Architecture Festival’ scheduled for October and will also be used as promotional content. Detailed information about the contest can be found on the ‘Busan Architecture Festival website.’

Last year, a video contest was held under the theme ‘Finding Alleys to Share with Busan.’ A total of 46 works were submitted, and among them, 10 works won awards and were exhibited at the Busan Architecture Festival. The grand prize went to ‘Sanbokdoro’ by Lee Hyun-dong and two others.
