[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Small and Medium Business Corporation (Chairman Kim Hak-do, hereinafter referred to as SBC) announced on the 4th that it is recruiting second-round participants for the '2022 SME Innovation Voucher Project' to enhance the competitiveness of small manufacturing enterprises.

The SME Innovation Voucher project supports management innovation of manufacturing SMEs by providing consulting, technical support, and marketing services in a customized package form. Eligible applicants are manufacturing small enterprises with an average sales of 12 billion KRW or less over three years, meeting the participation requirements specified in the regional individual project announcements.

In the first announcement of 2022, a total of 49.8 billion KRW was provided for general and re-startup consulting and carbon-neutral management innovation vouchers. For this second recruitment, SBC plans to support a total of 12 billion KRW by newly establishing the Advanced Service Voucher (2 billion KRW) and Regional Autonomous Voucher (10 billion KRW) to provide customized support according to company characteristics.

The Advanced Service Voucher targets companies that completed participation in the prototype production program through the Innovation Voucher project from 2020 to 2021. Experts will recommend customized programs based on on-site diagnosis to support service advancement and strengthen companies' commercialization capabilities. Selected companies will receive differential support of 50-90% of the voucher issuance amount, up to a maximum of 50 million KRW, depending on their sales scale.

The Regional Autonomous Voucher is designed and supported autonomously by 13 regional Small and Medium Venture Business Offices, considering the necessary industries for regional development and economic issues. Service fields, programs, and limits will be set according to support topics for regional industrial growth.

Chairman Kim Hak-do stated, "SBC has been supporting various projects, including the Innovation Voucher project, to strengthen the competitiveness of SMEs with high growth potential," adding, "We will continue to expand demand-tailored support to achieve balanced regional development through the innovative growth of small manufacturing enterprises."
