Yongin City to Provide Basic Income for Farmers... 9,723 Recipients to Receive 150,000 KRW Quarterly
[Asia Economy (Yongin) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province has paid 2.9289 billion KRW in basic income for farmers for the 1st and 2nd quarters to 9,723 farmers in the area.
The basic income for farmers is a system that provides farmers engaged in agricultural production with 50,000 KRW per month (150,000 KRW per quarter) in local currency to guarantee their livelihood.
The amount must be used within three months from the payment date, and if unused within three months, it is automatically reclaimed.
Yongin City announced on the 4th that it received applications from a total of 10,435 people from March 14 to April 15, reviewed eligibility three times, finalized 9,763 people as recipients, and recently paid all the basic income.
The recipients are those who have actually resided in Yongin for more than three years (a total of more than 10 years) and have engaged in agriculture for more than one year. The scope of agriculture includes not only crop cultivation but also livestock farming and forestry.
However, those who fraudulently received direct payments, those with comprehensive income of 37 million KRW or more outside agriculture, and agricultural workers employed in the agricultural sector receiving earned income were excluded from the payment target.
The city decided to accept additional applications from the 18th to the 29th of this month for those who could not apply for the basic income for farmers during the relevant period.
