[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Have you been on the ‘U-Road’? The grand expedition of ‘U-Road’ promoting Ulsan tourism nationwide has begun.
Ulsan City announced that from the 4th to the 11th, it will conduct the ‘2022 Youth Ulsan Expedition U-Road’ under the slogan ‘Youth! Embracing Ulsan’ to widely promote the beautiful charm of ‘Tourism City Ulsan’ across the country.
This ‘Youth Ulsan Expedition’ targets university students nationwide aged 24 and under. Among the 238 applicants from the recruitment held in April and May, 108 were finally selected and started the expedition at 11 a.m. on the day, embarking on a 7-night, 8-day journey covering a total distance of 223 km.
The participants will explore major tourist attractions in Ulsan such as Jangsaengpo Whale Culture Village, Daewangam Park, and Bangudae Petroglyphs, and experience marine sports, history, and culture by walking approximately 63 km, directly experiencing Ulsan’s hidden gems.
This expedition is designed to provide young people, who have lacked various experiential opportunities due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, with a chance to enjoy Ulsan specialties and participate in experience-oriented programs such as water leisure activities, Onggi pottery making, and climbing Ganjeoljae in the Yeongnam Alps, allowing them to fully enjoy the energy of youth.
Those who complete the expedition will be appointed as members of the Ulsan Youth Promotion Group and receive a certificate of completion.
The 7-night, 8-day journey will be produced as a documentary and is scheduled to be broadcast on local TV stations and promoted nationwide through YouTube and other platforms in August.
