‘Mobile Geoje Sarang Gift Certificate’ Purchase Geoje~? … Geoje City, Limited Partial Sale in July
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Geoje City, Gyeongnam Province, will increase the issuance scale of mobile Geoje Sarang Gift Certificates and implement split sales throughout July.
The city announced on the 28th that it will issue 10 billion KRW worth of mobile gift certificates, 2.5 billion KRW more than last month, and sell them in two installments to improve user inconvenience caused by the recent surge in mobile gift certificate purchases.
The first installment will be issued at 9 a.m. on July 1, and the second installment at 9 a.m. on July 4. Citizens who miss the first installment can purchase in the second installment.
Individuals can purchase up to 250,000 KRW per month, and corporations up to 5 million KRW per month of the mobile Geoje Sarang Gift Certificates.
The sales period is from July 1 to July 30, and sales will end once the issued 10 billion KRW is sold out.
The city also announced that the sales of paper-type (physical) Geoje Sarang Gift Certificates, which had been suspended due to preparations for the introduction of the Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation’s integrated gift certificate management system, will resume from July 4.
A city official said, “With the introduction of the integrated gift certificate management system, security has been enhanced including personal information protection, and the entire distribution process such as gift certificate production, sales, and redemption can be monitored in real time,” adding, “This will enable stable and systematic management of gift certificates, including preventing fraudulent distribution.”
