In his commemorative speech, Governor Lee Cheol-woo stated, “Gyeongbuk is the patriotic site that defended the Nakdong River line, the last defensive line of the Korean War, and during the Japanese colonial period, it was the region that fiercely led the anti-Japanese movement nationwide. Recently, the prolonged Ukraine crisis and international political turmoil have adversely affected the livelihood economy. However, if everyone unites as our ancestors did in the past, we can turn this crisis into an opportunity.”
