Lotte Department Store Hosts Dessert Pop-Up Store for Outing Season

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] With the full-fledged outdoor activity season underway, Lotte Department Store's Main Branch and Jamsil Branch are hosting pop-up stores featuring popular dessert cafes from social networking services (SNS) that offer easy-to-eat treats.
According to Lotte Department Store on the 19th, the Main Branch will hold a dessert pop-up store until the 23rd featuring the macaron specialty brand ‘Onnidang’ and ‘Margaret Yeonnam,’ famous for its cube pies. Onnidang gained fame for its signature menu item ‘Jogaelong,’ which sells out daily, and is a hot brand with over 15,000 SNS followers. Jogaelong comes in various flavors such as ‘Espresso Java Chip,’ ‘Cr?me Br?l?e,’ and ‘Kkiri Red Velvet.’
Margaret Yeonnam, a famous Yeonnam-dong eatery making its debut in a department store, is known for its signature ‘Cube Pie,’ a crispy pastry filled with sweet cream. The caf?, housed in a renovated residential building, became a hot topic on SNS and is attracting much attention from young customers as it is being introduced in a department store for the first time.
At the Jamsil Branch, a dessert cafe event featuring picnic-friendly desserts is being held with ‘Liam’s Cakery’ and ‘Easy Bite.’ Liam’s Cakery is a well-known cupcake dessert brand from Dosan Park in Gangnam, frequented by many celebrities and customers. It is especially famous as a representative picnic item because you can substitute a meal with cupcakes. Signature products include chocolate peanut butter cupcakes and strawberry chocolate cupcakes, available at the Jamsil Branch until the 30th.
From the 20th to the 3rd of next month, ‘Easy Bite’ will be showcased under the theme ‘Making the World Easy to Eat,’ offering neat and convenient food consumption. Known as a representative finger food, Easy Bite is popular among the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z) who lead healthy eating trends by providing not only appealing visuals but also calorie and nutrition information for health-conscious choices. Signature products include ‘Cheongyang Bulgogi Finger Bowl,’ ‘Pepperoni Finger Bowl,’ and ‘Hawaiian Finger Bowl.’
Yoon Hyangnae, head of the Bakery and Dessert Team at Lotte Department Store, said, “SNS popular dessert brands have now become indispensable in department stores,” adding, “We will continue to introduce a wider variety of popular dessert cafe brands to cater especially to young customers who are sensitive to trends.”
