Kooksoondang Exclusively Launches 'Philippe Chavy' Wine from Burgundy, France
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Kooksoondang announced on the 17th that it will exclusively import and launch wines from ‘Philippe Chavy,’ a white wine specialist winery located in the Puligny-Montrachet village of Burgundy, France.
Philippe Chavy is a winery established by Philippe Chavy of the prestigious Chavy family, a renowned winemaking family in the Puligny-Montrachet region of Burgundy, France. The Chavy family has cultivated grapes in the Puligny area for over 200 years. Philippe Chavy started the wine business using vineyards in the Puligny area planted by his father in the 1950s and vineyards in the Meursault area planted by his mother’s family in the 1930s.
The Philippe Chavy winery owns the highly regarded ‘Rue Rousseau’ vineyard, one of the most notable in the Puligny-Montrachet region, as well as the Premier Cru vineyard ‘Les Pucelles.’ They produce wine using biodynamic farming, an organic agricultural method, for vineyard cultivation and winemaking.
