From Reader to Writer... Gijang-gun Library Hosts Humanities Program on the Road
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Busan's Gijang-gun will operate the '2022 Humanities on the Road' program at Gijang Library and Jeonggwan Library starting from July 6.
The '2022 Humanities on the Road' program is a 'Library Humanities on the Road' contest project hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korean Library Association. This year, Gijang Library and Jeonggwan Library were selected to operate the program.
As part of the project, Gijang Library will run various programs over 10 sessions from July 6 to September 7 under the theme 'Dreaming of a Future of Forest, Ecology, and Human Coexistence,' including lectures such as ▲'Tasting Environment and Ecology through Novels and Films' ▲'Consilience and Understanding of the Environment, the True Meaning of Coexistence,' a field trip to Nopsan Forest to directly experience the healing power of the forest, and follow-up meetings to contemplate our bodies and the environment.
Jeonggwan Library will hold a total of 13 sessions from July 6 to October 5 under the theme 'From Reader to Writer: I Make My Own Book,' including ▲an independent publishing experience where participants express their individuality in writing and publish their own books with local and publishing experts ▲and visits to printing shops and independent bookstores.
Gijang Library will recruit 30 students on a first-come, first-served basis starting from the 15th. Participation can be applied for through the library website, by visiting, or by phone.
Jeonggwan Library accepts applications through the announcement link on the library website until the 30th, and plans to select 20 participants through screening for smooth project progress.
