Chosun University Hospital 'Creating a Hospital Safe from Infectious Diseases' Event
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Chosun University Hospital (Director Kim Kyungjong) recently announced on the 13th that it held the ‘2022 Infection Control Event.’
This event was conducted not only for the staff but also to actively promote the importance of infection control to patients and guardians visiting the hospital, aiming to create a hospital safe from infections.
The event featured corners that reminded participants of often overlooked infection prevention rules by conducting a proper handwashing experience, isolation precaution guideline experience, and infection control-related OX quizzes (including COVID-19), which received great responses.
In the hand hygiene experience, the correct method of handwashing was explained, and after using hand sanitizer, participants had the opportunity to directly check the condition of their hands through a scanner.
Also, in the isolation precaution guideline experience, participants completed a doll play by attaching stickers to prepared character boards according to the disease, learning the proper protective equipment usage by medical staff and preparation of infectious materials for isolated patients by disease.
Seo Junwon, head of the Infection Control Office, said, “Through this infection control event, patients, guardians, and staff all became more alert and had an opportunity to reconsider infection control,” adding, “We will do our best to create a hospital safe from infections.”
