Imsil-gun, Shindeok-myeon Contaminated Soil Countermeasure Committee Settlement Report and Harmony Event Held
[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] On the 10th, Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk, announced that it held a harmonious event to conclude the settlement report of the Contaminated Soil Issue Countermeasure Committee in Sindeok-myeon.
Since 2018, due to the ongoing issue of the contaminated soil facility in Sindeok-myeon, the residents of Sindeok-myeon formed a countermeasure committee and have been working with the county to close the contaminated soil facility.
As a result of these efforts, an agreement on the closure of the contaminated soil facility was signed last year, leading to the facility's closure.
The harmonious event held on this day served as a venue for the settlement report on these results and to conclude the operation of the countermeasure committee.
County Governor Shim Min, who participated in the event, said, “We will provide all necessary support to ensure that follow-up projects for regional development, such as residents' long-standing requests, proceed smoothly,” and added, “I appreciate the efforts of the Contaminated Soil Issue Countermeasure Committee and the residents of Sindeok-myeon who have worked hard for the local environment.”
