Busan Office of Education Announces the 2nd Qualification Exam for Elementary, Middle, and High School Graduates
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education has announced the implementation plan for the ‘2022 2nd Elementary, Middle, and High School Equivalency Examination’ to be held on August 11 on the Office of Education’s website.
The equivalency exam is an academic qualification recognition test conducted twice a year to provide educational opportunities to those who have not entered or have discontinued regular elementary, middle, or high school.
Applications can be submitted both on-site and online. On-site applications will be accepted from 9 a.m. on the 20th to 6 p.m. on the 24th at the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education annex application center.
Online applications will be accepted from 9 a.m. on the 20th to 6 p.m. on the 23rd.
The exam will be held on August 11 at seven test centers, and guidelines for COVID-19 confirmed cases will be announced on July 29.
For the elementary equivalency exam, the test center will be set up at Myeongjin Middle School, and for the middle school equivalency exam, at Yangun Middle School.
For the high school equivalency exam, the first test center will be at Busan Girls’ Middle School, the second at Busan Gaeseong Middle School, the third at Yeonil Middle School, and the fourth at Jangsan Middle School. A test center will also be established at Busan Prison.
For examinees with disabilities, one assistant will be assigned per test center, and if ‘disability convenience services’ are requested, accommodations such as reading aloud and writing assistance will be provided.
Successful candidates will be announced on August 30 at 10 a.m. on the Office of Education’s website.

A representative from the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education said, “To prevent COVID-19 infection, we strongly encourage applicants to obtain a public certificate and apply online. When applying in person, please wear a KF94 mask at all times and take special care to avoid exposure to infection risks.”
