Naju City Launches 'Fair Price and Healthy Consumption Campaign'
[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] On the 9th, Naju City in Jeollanam-do announced that it conducted a ‘Good Price, Sound Consumption Campaign’ at Moksagoeul Market, where both business owners and consumers participated to stabilize prices.
This campaign was organized as part of raising awareness about the recent soaring prices and creating a social atmosphere involving the public, government, and organizations to stabilize prices.
On this day, about 20 people including consumer groups, price monitoring personnel, and public officials encouraged and promoted the use of good price stores and traditional markets, as well as compliance with the origin and price labeling system for agricultural and marine products by merchants, using price stabilization placards and leaflets.
The city plans to continuously monitor price fluctuations of major items experiencing price increases and carry out price stabilization campaigns involving consumer groups, while also strengthening guidance and inspections against unfair price hikes and unfair trade practices taking advantage of the rising price trend.
A city official said, “Amid the sluggish local economy, we will do our best in education, campaigns, guidance, and inspections to stabilize prices and foster a rational consumption culture,” adding, “We ask for active mutual cooperation among the public, government, and organizations for price stabilization and revitalization of the local economy.”
