'National MC' Song Hae Appointed 'President of the Korea Broadcasting Comedians Association'... Funeral Committee Includes Choi Yang-rak, Yoo Jae-suk, Kang Ho-dong, and Others
[Asia Economy Reporter Seo Mideum] The funeral of 'National MC' Song Hae (95) will be held for three days as the 'President of the Korea Broadcasting Comedians Association.'
According to the Korea Broadcasting Comedians Association, the funeral will be held for three days according to the wishes of the bereaved family. The family originally hoped for a private family funeral, but after discussion, it was decided to hold it as the Comedians Association funeral.
The funeral chairman will be Eom Young-su, president of the Korea Broadcasting Comedians Association. Funeral committee members include comedians Seok Hyun, Kim Hak-rae, Lee Yong-sik, Choi Yang-rak, Yoo Jae-suk, Kang Ho-dong, Lee Soo-geun, Kim Gu-ra, and the heads of the comedy departments of the three major terrestrial broadcasters: Kim Sung-gyu (KBS Comedy Department Head), Go Myung-hwan (MBC Comedy Department Head), and Jeong Sam-sik (SBS Comedy Department Head).
The funeral hall has been prepared in rooms 2 and 3 of Seoul National University Hospital Funeral Hall. The farewell ceremony will be held at 4:30 a.m. on the 10th. Comedians who worked with the deceased during his lifetime will gather to read memorial poems.
Song Hae is survived by two daughters. His son passed away in a traffic accident in 1994, and his wife, Seok Ok-i, passed away from an illness in 2018.

The burial site has been decided as the hill behind Songhae Park in Dalseong-gun, Daegu. This is where his wife Seok Ok-i was laid to rest in 2018.
