Prosecution Indicts and Detains Chinese Man in His 40s for 'Guro Random Murder and Assault'
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] A man in his 40s of Chinese nationality was sent to trial in custody for assaulting a stranger with a road curb (curbstone), resulting in death.
The Criminal Division 3 of the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office announced on the 7th that Mr. A (42), who is charged with robbery-murder and violation of the Narcotics Control Act, was indicted in custody.
According to the prosecution, Mr. A, a Korean-Chinese, is accused of assaulting a man in his 60s in front of a park in Guro-gu around 6 a.m. on the 11th of last month while under the influence of methamphetamine, robbing him of money, and killing him by hitting him with a road curb.
Mr. A is also charged with assaulting an elderly man in his 80s who was collecting scrap metal with a handcart nearby while fleeing immediately after the crime.

A prosecution official stated, "We indicted after thoroughly investigating the motive and circumstances of the crime through supplementary investigations."
