5th Anniversary of Byeolmadang Library: Special Lectures and Performances Throughout June
Starfield COEX Mall Byeolmadang Library will hold special lectures and concerts as part of the 5th anniversary celebration event, "A Unique Experience."
View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Starfield COEX Mall Byeolmadang Library is holding a series of special lectures and concerts with invited celebrities as part of the 5th anniversary event ‘Unique Experience’.
According to Byeolmadang Library at COEX Mall on the 3rd, the special lectures feature celebrities who have pioneered their own fields and established unique paths. The events will be held every Friday at 7 p.m. on the open stage of Byeolmadang Library until the 24th.
Starting with a meeting with film director Hwang Donghyuk, who began writing Season 2 of ‘Squid Game,’ which globally showcased the power of K-content, the program also includes Professor Kim Sangwook (Department of Physics, Kyung Hee University), a kind physicist who loves art and recently appeared in a beer commercial, exploring how to appreciate artworks more richly through scientific imagination.
Following this, Professor Kim Kyungil (Department of Psychology, Ajou University), a leading cognitive psychologist in Korea, will give a lecture titled ‘An Era Where a Balanced Life Becomes Competence,’ and artistic director Song Seunghwan, who gained fame as a performance planner beyond being a film actor, will continue with a lecture on ‘From Nanta Planning to Global Expansion.’
Every Wednesday is organized as ‘Wednesday Culture Club,’ where top experts in various fields discuss the latest trends and issues. Until the 29th of this month, the sessions will be held every Wednesday at 7 p.m. on the open stage of Byeolmadang Library and simultaneously in the SK Telecom ifland metaverse Byeolmadang Library.
In the first session, film translator Hwang Seokhee, who maximizes the vividness of movies with transcendental translations such as ‘Deadpool’ and ‘Spider-Man,’ will share ordinary work stories under the theme ‘Happiness and Suffering of Work.’ Korea’s first profiler, Professor Kwon Ilyong (Graduate School of Police and Judicial Studies, Dongguk University), who reads the minds of evil, has prepared a session on ‘How Evil Approaches Us.’ Alongside, broadcast writer Kim Mira and historian Shim Yonghwan will teach writing techniques for broadcast writers and imaginative methods of studying history, respectively.
‘Fandom Talk,’ where attendees can meet leaders of brands with strong fandoms among the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z), is also prepared. It will be held every Saturday at 2 p.m. on the open stage of Byeolmadang Library from the 4th to the 18th of this month.
