The exhibition, held under the theme "Standing in the Space of Memory and Gratitude" in the lobby on the first floor of Anmin Hall at the provincial government office, displays medals of untransferred independence patriots from Gyeongbuk, surveillance target person cards from the Japanese colonial period, photos of Gyeongbuk people who participated in the establishment of the Provisional Government, and photos from the Korean War.
The exhibition of medals of untransferred independence patriots from Gyeongbuk was jointly planned by Gyeongbuk Province and the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs to remember the independence patriots who devoted themselves to the independence of the homeland by displaying medals that have not been transferred due to the absence of confirmed descendants among independence patriots, and to find their descendants and transfer the medals.
In June, the province plans to actively promote the "Search for Descendants of Independence Patriots in the Gyeongbuk Region" through an agreement with the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs.
Also, the "Surveillance Target Person Cards" registered as national cultural heritage are cards recording personal information of individuals targeted for surveillance by the Japanese during the colonial period. Through this exhibition, the cards of 15 surveillance target persons from Gyeongbuk under Japanese rule were disclosed.
The surveillance target person cards and photos of Gyeongbuk people who participated in the establishment of the Provisional Government demonstrate the unceasing spirit of patriotism of the people of Gyeongbuk.
Photos related to the Korean War are also exhibited to inform about the horrors and circumstances of the Korean War, express gratitude to the veterans who did not spare their lives for the country, and to reflect on the noble value of patriotism.
