As of 11:59 PM on the 1st, with 40.12% of votes counted, candidate Kim secured 46.02%, leading candidate Jang Seok-woong who obtained 36.54%, making his victory practically certain.
Candidate Kim Dae-jung took first place with 161,697 votes, surpassing candidate Jang Seok-woong who came in second with 128,727 votes.
