JTBC Exit Poll: People Power Party Leads in 9-13 Districts... Close Races in Gyeonggi, Chungnam, Daejeon, and Sejong
[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] In the June 1 local elections, the People Power Party is projected to have an advantage in at least 9 to 13 metropolitan mayoral races.
According to the exit poll results released by JTBC on the 1st, the People Power Party leads in 13 out of 17 metropolitan mayoral races, including those with a margin of error advantage. Nine of these are leads beyond the margin of error, while four are classified as battlegrounds.
The Democratic Party showed an advantage in four areas: Jeonbuk, Jeonnam, Gwangju, and Jeju. Although trailing within the margin of error, there remains a possibility of winning four or more depending on the results in the battleground areas.
The battlegrounds were Gyeonggi-do, Chungcheongnam-do, Daejeon, and Sejong City.

In the highly anticipated Gyeonggi-do governor race, People Power Party candidate Kim Eun-hye was surveyed at 49.6%, while Democratic Party candidate Kim Dong-yeon was at 48.5%. In the Chungnam governor race, People Power Party candidate Kim Tae-heum received 51.8%, and Democratic Party candidate Yang Seung-jo had 48.2%. For Daejeon mayor, People Power Party candidate Lee Jang-woo had 50.6%, and Democratic Party candidate Heo Tae-jeong had 49.4%. In Sejong City mayoral race, People Power Party candidate Choi Min-ho was at 51.6%, and Democratic Party candidate Lee Chun-hee was at 48.4%, respectively.
