"Business Disruption" 40s Man Caught Removing Election Banners
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Junho] A man in his 40s who took down campaign banners of candidates for the Gwangju Metropolitan City council in the June 1 local elections was apprehended by the police.
The Gwangju Northern Police Station announced on the 31st that Mr. A was booked on charges of violating the Public Official Election Act.
Mr. A is accused of removing banners of an independent candidate for the Buk-gu council near Ssangyong Apartments in Dongnim-dong, Buk-gu, the previous morning.
He reportedly told the police that he untied and took down the banners because they were blocking the store he operates.
