The Daegu Dongbu Police Station announced on the 30th that they have apprehended a man in his 40s, identified as A, on charges of obstructing official duties and are currently investigating him.
A is suspected of aiming a survival pistol and rifle at pedestrians and brandishing a Japanese sword to threaten citizens and police officers on the streets of Ipseok-dong, Dong-gu, Daegu on the afternoon of the 29th.
The police arrived at the scene and repeatedly ordered A to surrender, but when he continued to refuse, they subdued him by firing a taser gun.
It has been confirmed that there were no casualties resulting from A's threats.
