In Early Summer Weather... Retail Industry Sees a Surge in Sales of Cooling Appliances

According to Lotte Hi-Mart on the 28th, sales of Hi-Made air conditioners from the 1st to the 25th of this month rose about 70% compared to the same period last year. During the same period, sales of circulators and fans grew approximately 260% and 85%, respectively.
Lotte Hi-Mart is strengthening the Hi-Made brand through product line expansion and discount events. From the 10th to the 20th of next month, a ‘Hi-Made Week’ event will be held at over 420 stores nationwide and on the online shopping mall.
A Lotte Hi-Mart official said, “As summer weather approaches 30 degrees Celsius continues, the number of consumers purchasing cooling appliances in advance has sharply increased. With consumer trends pursuing cost-effectiveness and emotional satisfaction, the number of consumers seeking Hi-Made products that consider reasonable prices and design is steadily growing.”
On the lowest price comparison site Enuri.com, from the 1st of last month to the 24th of this month, fan sales increased by 26% and sales revenue by 73% compared to the previous year. During the same period, circulator sales and revenue increased by 7% and 21%, respectively, compared to the previous year.
Demand for air conditioners, a representative cooling appliance, has also increased. In particular, interest in portable and window-type air conditioners has grown as the number of single-person households increases and the trend of installing cooling devices in every room continues.
