Democratic Party Candidates in Damyang Hold Joint Campaign Rally at Damyang Terminal
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Candidates from the Democratic Party of Korea running in the June 1 local elections in Damyang County pledged victory by holding a focused joint rally on the first day of the election campaign.
The Democratic Party of Korea Damyang Regional Committee held a "Democratic Party of Korea Focused Joint Rally" at 1:30 PM on the 19th in front of Damyang Terminal, officially launching the election campaign.
The joint rally was attended by Lee Gaeho, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea Damyang Regional Committee, Lee Byeongno, candidate for Damyang County governor, candidates for provincial and county council members from Damyang, and about 500 supporters.
The candidates emphasized, "The 'competent workers' chosen by the people and party members of Damyang County will now become a 'dream team' beyond a one team to surely realize Damyang's dreams and win the local elections."
They continued, "Centered on candidate Lee Byeongno for Damyang County governor, through an election campaign advocating 'unity and people's livelihood,' we will definitely achieve a 'new Damyang' that will take responsibility for the happiness of 50,000 Damyang residents," expressing their determination to win the election.
Candidate Lee Byeongno appealed for the support of the residents, saying, "In the reality facing crises such as the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, population extinction, and climate change, the 'dream team' will take the lead with inclusive and innovative leadership to overcome the crisis and bring about a great transformation of 'Cheonnyeon Damyang,' Korea's representative ecological city."
Meanwhile, in the June 1 local elections in Damyang, 13 candidates have completed their registration as Democratic Party of Korea Damyang regional candidates, including Lee Byeongno for county governor, Park Jongwon and Lee Gyuhyeon for provincial council members, Choi Yongman, Jang Hyundong, Park Junyeop, Kim Hyundong, Jang Myeongyoung, Kim Youngnam, Choi Hyundong, Noh Daehyun for county council members, and Park Eunseo and Kim Yanghee for basic council proportional representation.
