Jeju International Airport, Observation Deck Renovated with Panoramic Views of Runway and Sea
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Chang-won] Korea Airports Corporation Jeju Regional Headquarters (Head Son Jong-ha) announced on the 19th that they have newly renovated the ‘Jeju Airport Observatory,’ where anyone using Jeju Airport can enjoy the blue sea of Jeju and the scenery of Hallasan Mountain.
Korea Airports Corporation Jeju Regional Headquarters installed a wood deck, basalt slabs, and landscaping in the airport rooftop area, which had not been open to the public until now.
To the north, visitors can see airplanes taking off and landing along with the blue sea, and to the south, a photo zone was created where visitors can take pictures with the peaks of Hallasan Mountain as the background, allowing travelers to enjoy both the pleasure of travel and relaxation.
Especially at the entrance of the observatory, a wood-type signboard engraved with Jeju’s major oreums and tourist spots was installed, and on clear days, a window graphic showing the location and explanation of Jeju’s subsidiary islands (Chujado, Gwantaldo, Yeoseodo) visible beyond the sea was attached.
Additionally, a commercial facility where visitors can enjoy simple beverages and rest was opened together, which is expected to enhance visitor satisfaction.
Korea Airports Corporation Jeju Regional Headquarters stated, “It is meaningful to discover and utilize a hidden space that had not been properly used so far to provide a special experience for travelers visiting Jeju,” and added, “We hope visitors regain the joy of travel and daily life while enjoying the beautiful scenery of Jeju in the open outdoor space.”
