T'way Air Launches New Singapore Route... "First International Deployment of A330"
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] T'way Air announced on the 16th that it will expand its air routes by launching a new Incheon-Singapore route on the 28th, becoming the first domestic low-cost carrier (LCC) to operate this route. The recently introduced large aircraft A330-300 will also be deployed on international flights for the first time.
The Incheon-Singapore route schedule departs Incheon Airport at 8:50 PM and arrives in Singapore at 2:00 AM local time. The flight duration is approximately 6 hours. Initially, flights will operate twice a week, with plans to gradually increase the number of seats through additional flights to provide more convenient travel for passengers.
A promotional sale to commemorate the launch of the Singapore route will be held on T'way Air’s website and mobile app from 2 PM on the same day until June 5. Promotional fares start from 273,700 KRW for economy class and 818,700 KRW for business class on a one-way total fare basis. The travel period is from the 28th to October 29. The prices are offered at about 80% of those of major airlines, providing reasonable rates.
During the promotion period, coupons offering a 50,000 KRW discount on additional baggage fees will be provided for customers with excess checked luggage to use economically. Additionally, a coupon offering a 15,000 KRW discount is available for payments over 100,000 KRW made with Hyundai Card via T'way Pay, T'way Air’s simple payment service.
This Singapore route is the first overseas route to deploy the recently introduced large aircraft A330-300 by T'way Air. The aircraft offers a seat pitch approximately 2 to 3 inches wider than the existing B737, providing a more comfortable and pleasant experience for long-haul flights. The A330-300 also operates a business class with premium flat-bed seats. Business class international passengers receive 30kg checked baggage allowance, two carry-on bags weighing up to 10kg each, priority boarding and deplaning, dedicated check-in counters, priority baggage handling, and in-flight meals. This practical service and reasonably priced business class will support business travelers such as corporate clients on business trips.
Currently, COVID-19 testing is exempted upon entry to Singapore, and travelers who have completed vaccination 14 days after the second dose (or one dose of Janssen) and unvaccinated children under 12 years old can travel freely without quarantine.
T'way Air plans to increase profitability by operating cargo services simultaneously with passenger flights on the Singapore route. To ensure efficient cargo transport and management, the airline has signed a ULD supply contract and completed hazardous materials transport approval procedures, continuing preparations to expand its international cargo business.
