Soonchunhyang University Seoul Hospital Signs MOU with Six Mongolian National Hospitals for Collaboration in Research, Clinical Practice, and Patient Recruitment
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] Soonchunhyang University Seoul Hospital announced on the 16th that it has signed a business agreement with six major national hospitals in Mongolia, including the Mongolian National Second Hospital.
According to this agreement, Soonchunhyang University Seoul Hospital and the Mongolian hospitals will cooperate in various fields such as medical staff education and training, academic research, clinical exchanges, and patient attraction.
Since October last year, 13 professors from Soonchunhyang University Seoul Hospital have visited Mongolia three times to conduct educational programs for over 1,000 local medical personnel. The program was organized by the Mongolian Ministry of Health and hosted by the Health Development Institute. Due to COVID-19, overseas training for Mongolian medical staff became impossible, so the program was conducted by inviting Korean medical personnel. Specialists from Soonchunhyang University Seoul Hospital in neurosurgery, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, respiratory allergy internal medicine, thoracic surgery, radiation oncology, and cardiology were dispatched.
Lee Jeong-jae, director of Soonchunhyang University Seoul Hospital, said, “We have exchanged in various fields with Mongolia so far, and I feel a sense of responsibility thinking that we are contributing even a little to the development of Mongolia’s healthcare.” He added, “With the founding spirit of Soonchunhyang, which is the love of humanity, we will continue to cooperate actively and continuously.”

Tsevegmid Erdembileg, Deputy Minister of Health of Mongolia, said, “The Mongolian government is also striving for the development of healthcare and the health of its people. We express our gratitude for visiting Mongolia during difficult times and making efforts for the education and training of medical personnel.” He added, “We will do our part for the joint development of Soonchunhyang and Mongolia.”
