China Promises to Strengthen Support for North Korea Amid COVID-19 Emergency: "We Want to Enhance Cooperation"
North Korean State Affairs Commission Chairman Kim Jong-un visited the National Emergency Anti-epidemic Command on the 12th to inspect the COVID-19 prevention status and understand the nationwide transmission situation, Chosun Central TV reported on the 13th.

Zhao Lijian, spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated at a regular briefing on the 13th in response to a question about quarantine support for North Korea, "China wishes to mutually support and enhance cooperation with North Korea in the fight against COVID-19," adding, "Quarantine efforts are a common challenge faced by all humanity."
Regarding questions about the return of Chinese nationals residing in North Korea, he said, "We place great importance on the lives and safety of Chinese citizens in North Korea," and stated, "We will closely monitor the COVID-19 situation in North Korea going forward."
