Police Arrest Far-Right YouTuber for Playing 'Lee Jae-myung Insult Audio File'
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] A YouTuber who played an audio file of curse words by Lee Jae-myung, Senior Advisor of the Democratic Party of Korea, through a loudspeaker was arrested by the police.
On the 10th, according to the police, the Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul executed an arrest warrant for Mr. A, known as an extreme right-wing YouTuber.
Earlier, Mr. A was reported to the Seoul Metropolitan Election Commission on charges of broadcasting an audio recording containing curse words by Lee Jae-myung through a loudspeaker during the last presidential election campaign period.
According to Article 91 of the Public Official Election Act, except when used for speeches, dialogues, or debates in public places as stipulated by law, or in venues for speeches, dialogues, or debates, loudspeakers cannot be used for election campaigning. Except in cases separately prescribed by law, election campaigning using vehicles is also prohibited. Violations are punishable by imprisonment of up to two years or a fine of up to 4 million won.

Mr. A refused to comply with the police summons for investigation, leading to the issuance of an arrest warrant, and was reportedly arrested near the presidential inauguration venue on the same day.
