Yeouido St. Mary's Hospital Launches Global Collaborative Research on Alzheimer's Response
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] The Catholic Brain Health Center at Yeouido St. Mary's Hospital announced on the 10th that it has embarked on a joint research project on Alzheimer's disease in collaboration with the Davos Alzheimer Collaborative (DAC).
Launched at the 2021 World Economic Forum (WEF) meeting, DAC is a global multilateral association that promotes joint responses to Alzheimer's disease. Hundreds of experts participate to advance research, prevention, and treatment to combat Alzheimer's disease.
Yeouido St. Mary's Hospital participates in DAC's Global Cohort Development (GCD) platform based on the dementia clinical data (CABI) from the Catholic Brain Health Center. In particular, it is responsible for addressing the complex links between genomic abnormalities, cognitive decline, and brain imaging changes such as MRI and PET.
CABI is an integrated brain aging dataset from eight hospitals under the Catholic Central Medical Center. It holds a vast amount of data including 5,850 dementia imaging cases, over 30,000 dementia diagnoses, as well as amyloid-PET, tau-PET, APOE gene, and brain MRI scan images.
