On the 9th, according to the Gwangju Dongbu Police Station, the forensic pathologist at the National Forensic Service verbally informed the police that the cause of death of a man in his 20s, Mr. A, is presumed to be drug overdose.
Mr. A collapsed inside a friend's car while driving on a road in Buk-gu, Gwangju, in the early morning of the 5th, was transferred to a university hospital, but died that afternoon.
The university hospital confirmed through blood tests during treatment that several psychotropic drug substances, including narcotics, were detected.
Two types of drugs classified as narcotics were detected, and the concentration of amphetamine-type drugs, which have a strong stimulating effect, was reported to have exceeded the lethal dose.
Before collapsing, Mr. A had also visited a club in Seo-gu.
Meanwhile, the police checked the whereabouts of acquaintances who were with Mr. A before he lost consciousness, and during the witness investigation, multiple acquaintances tested positive in a rapid drug test. The police decided to request sample collection and drug component analysis from the National Forensic Service.
