Gurye-gun Provides Cultural Welfare Fund... Offering Healing Opportunities to Youth
Jeonnam Youth Culture Welfare Card Application Extended Until the End of This Month
[Gurye=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yuk Miseok] Gurye-gun announced on the 9th that it will extend the application deadline for the ‘Jeonnam Youth Culture Welfare Card,’ which supports youth cultural and leisure activities, by one month from the end of last month to the end of this month, in cooperation with Jeonnam Province.
The ‘Jeonnam Youth Culture Welfare Card Support Project,’ implemented for the first time this year, provides 200,000 KRW per person annually as cultural welfare expenses to youths aged 21 to 28 (born 1994?2001) who have had an address in Jeonnam Province and have continuously resided there for more than two years since before January 1, 2020.
However, public institution employees receiving welfare points, out-of-school youth education allowance recipients, and Jeonnam Province female farmers and fishermen voucher recipients are not eligible for duplicate benefits. For those eligible for the Munhwa Nuri Card, 100,000 KRW, which is the difference excluding the Munhwa Nuri benefit, will be provided.
The application deadline is extended until the end of this month to allow more eligible applicants to apply.
Applications can be made online through the Nonghyup Card website or in person at the town or township office of the resident registration address.
The cultural welfare expenses are provided via a check card and can be used within the applicable year.
They can only be used for cultural and leisure activities such as travel and attending performances, academy fees, and self-development including book purchases.
Use at entertainment establishments and department stores is excluded, and the card cannot be used in other cities or provinces.
Lee Gwang-dong, Acting Governor of Gurye-gun, said, “We hope that the Jeonnam Youth Culture Welfare Card, a project to improve the quality of life for young people, will become a new landmark in youth policy.”
