'30th Anniversary of Korea-Georgia Diplomatic Relations' Event Held; Ukraine Relief Donations Collected by Seodaemun-gu Volunteer Groups and District Office Staff Also Delivered

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] An event to promote friendly cooperation between Korea and Georgia and to pray for the end of the Ukraine war and the restoration of peace was held in Sinchon, Seoul.
Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Moon Seok-jin) announced that on the afternoon of the 7th, the "30th Anniversary of Korea-Georgia Diplomatic Relations" event was held at Sinchon Boxquare (22-5 Sinchon Station-ro) in front of Sinchon Station on the Gyeongui-Jungang Line, hosted by the Embassy of Georgia in Korea.
Citizens participated in side events where they purchased traditional Georgian food, wine, and souvenirs, and tried writing their names in Georgian.
Otar Berdzenishvili, the Ambassador of Georgia to Korea, donated all proceeds from sales at the event to Dmytro Ponomarenko, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Korea.
This was to show solidarity with Ukraine, a fellow Black Sea coastal country suffering from the Russian invasion, and to pray for peace.

On the same day, Moon Seok-jin, Mayor of Seodaemun-gu, further added meaning to the event by delivering relief funds of 11.07 million won, donated by local volunteer organizations, volunteer camps in each neighborhood, district office staff, and Hongik Bookstore, to the Embassy of Ukraine in Korea.
