Grand Hyatt Seoul Hotel Launches Two New Bingsu Varieties for Summer
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] The lobby lounge cafe ‘Gallery’ at Grand Hyatt Seoul Hotel will introduce bingsu starting from the 16th of this month to welcome the approaching summer.
The ‘Mango Bingsu,’ which has consistently been the most popular bingsu with the highest sales every year, will greet customers with a completely new appearance. This year’s Mango Bingsu features a mountain of sweet and fragrant fresh mango slices piled generously on top of cool milk ice. Hidden between the heaps of mango slices and ice are sweet mango-flavored tapioca pearls, adding a fun chewy texture. On top of the mango, a sauce made from pureed passion fruit is spread, adding a tangy and refreshing twist to the bingsu. Red beans and condensed milk are also served on the side to be enjoyed according to preference.
The new bingsu that will form a twin peak with the Mango Bingsu is the ‘Matcha Bingsu.’ Made with Uji matcha cultivated in the Uji region of Kyoto, Japan, the Matcha Bingsu offers a vivid green charm and a deep matcha aroma. Uji matcha is known for having less astringency typical of green tea and is considered one of the world’s finest matchas, boasting a pure and luxurious taste. Inside the milk ice base mixed with Uji matcha powder hides matcha ice cream, harmonizing the slightly bitter charm of matcha with the sweetness of ice cream and condensed milk in the mouth. When enjoyed with matcha yokan, red beans, and mochi toppings served alongside according to taste, you can experience a wider variety of flavors and textures in the ‘Matcha Bingsu’ and enjoy a cool summer.
