Kakao Launches Digital Talent Development Initiative... Operates 'Digital Leading Company Academy'
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Kakao announced on the 3rd that it has been selected as a business operator for the ‘K-Digital Training’ program, a digital new technology core practical talent training project promoted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training, and will operate the ‘Digital Leading Company Academy’ education course.
The Digital Leading Company Academy is part of the ‘K-Digital Training,’ a Korean-style New Deal digital core practical talent training project. Digital companies directly design and operate training courses to proactively educate talent. Kakao has established the ‘Kakao Cloud School’ for practical professional personnel in cloud system operation, development, and management, and will conduct the ‘Kakao Cloud Developer Training Course’ and the ‘Kakao Cloud Engineer Training Course’ twice in the first and second halves of 2022. Each course will select 25 participants, educating a total of 100 people.
This education course is conducted together with the Korea Radio Promotion Association (RAFA), an operating support organization under the Ministry of Science and ICT. About ten Kakao employees currently in charge of cloud work will directly participate in lectures and mentoring, and the program is characterized by on-site practical projects that build and operate cloud systems in Kakao’s actual development work environment. Kakao’s self-developed cloud-based learning management system (LMS) SaaS (Software as a Service), ‘Krempolin,’ will also be piloted.
Applicants wishing to participate in the first half of 2022 can apply through the Kakao Cloud School recruitment website until the 25th of this month. After document screening, aptitude tests, and interviews involving Kakao’s practitioners, the final successful candidates will be selected on June 6. The selection process will comprehensively review applicants’ major knowledge, willingness to participate, and growth potential. After the course ends, outstanding trainees will be awarded, and all graduates will receive preferential treatment in document screening when applying for Kakao developer recruitment in the future.
