Taleban Supreme Leader's Second Public Speech... "Calls for Government Recognition and Investment"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Haibatullah Akhundzada, the supreme leader of the Islamic militant group Taliban, delivered a public speech on the 1st to commemorate the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.
Akhundzada appeared in public for the second time since his speech last October, announcing 17 key messages including urging the international community to recognize the Taliban regime and invest in it.
According to Afghan media, Akhundzada gave an Eid al-Fitr congratulatory speech at a mosque in Kandahar in the south, where thousands of believers gathered, and released an audio file on social networking services (SNS).
Akhundzada stated, "We celebrate victory, freedom, and success. We celebrate security and the establishment of the Islamic system." At the same time, he called on the world to recognize the Taliban government and urged the full implementation of the Doha peace agreement.
Akhundzada said, "We will not pose any threat to other countries and seek mutual respect," adding, "We invite domestic and foreign investors to invest in Afghanistan. We will provide all conveniences for trade, finance, business, and construction activities."

Akhundzada warned that anyone violating the general amnesty order would face severe punishment and urged Afghans who fled abroad to return. He also requested neighboring countries to treat Afghan refugees properly and allow them to voluntarily return to Afghanistan.
